Oil production is continuing using high-pressure sales gas in leu of gaslift gas and the resulting flare rate is estimated to be approximately 2.5-2.8 mmcf/d. This volume is comprised of approximately 2.4-2.6 mmcf/d of sales gas, from wells BC-1 a and BC-9, with the remainder being casing head gas. At this time, efforts are being made to determine the extent of the problem. It is very probable a complete overhaul will be required. Overhaul duration can last 2-4 weeks dependent upon availability of parts and overall condition of the equipment. We will inform you as to the type of equipment failure as soon as prudent. Our current course of action is to assess the problems while continuing oil production. The oil wells at Beaver Creek, BC -4 and BC-5, have a history of being highly susceptible to loss of productivity following any shut-in. Therefore, continued production is essential. This is expected to result in a flare volume of between 2.5-2.8 mmcf/d, as described above, until -such time as the compressor is returned to operation. Based on the remote nature of the field and the limited volume being flared there should not be any long-term impact to air quality. We will keep you advised on a weekly basis as to the status of equipment repairs and volumes flared. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me at 283-6205.
