Wendy,
This is to advise that the C-20 Compressor on the Steelhead Platform is
currently down for quarterly maintenance inspection. It was shut-in about
4:00 AM this morning and is expected to be back in service about 8:00 PM.
Approximately 7 MMCF of gas will be flared while the C-20 is down (rate =
13MMCFD) The oil system was shut in .for about 2 hours for scheduled
maintenance during this period which reduced the flare volume. Specific
duration of the event and volume of gas flared will be reported on the
monthly flare log and excess flare report. If you have any questions,
please contact Janet Bounds. at 263-7694.

July flaring questions

Hi Janet,
I have a few questions for July.
TBPF
7/2 and 7/30 received grayling gas line pigs. Why two times in one
month? What is the normal pigging frequency?
Granite Point Platform
7/5-7, 14, & 16th Well spikes/Wireline work.
What wells and and what kind of Wireline work?
Steelhead
7/9-11/99 High Seal Vent pressure and C-20 seal failure.
Was the seal already broken when the Seal gas regulator was adjusted, or
did the seal break as a result of the adjustment?
Other than that, things look great. The additional comments on the
Steelhead flare log were very helpful, Thanks.

> Wendy:
> Below are responses to your questions regarding flare events in July.
> Trading Bay Production Facility
> * Pipeline pigs are shipped from Grayling as often as necessary to
> maintain clean lines. Grayling gas line pigs are usually shipped once per
> month. The Grayling gas pigs shipped on July 2 and 30, 1999 were four
> weeks apart.
> * The pig shipped on July 30, 1999 was part of the procedure to clean
> out the line prior to the gas riser inspection and modification.
> Granite Point Platform
> * On July 5, 6, and 7, 1999 well work included replacing all of the
> gas lift valves in GP-50 and 2 gas lift valves in GP 11-13.
> * On July 14 and 16, 1999 two valves suspected of leaking were
> replaced in GP-50 and a gas lift valve was replaced in well GP 31-14. A
> gas survey was also completed.
> Steelhead
> * Adjusting the seal gas regulator did not break the seal. The seals
> were worn out to the point that adjusting the regulator did not stop the
> leaking; therefore, the seals were replaced.
Please let me know if you need more information.
