Standard Oil Company of California submitted the referenced application dated July 22, 1974. 2. The referenced well location lies 1000 feet north of the northern Beluga River Unit boundary line. 3. The referenced location lies 1000 feet from a property line. The referenced regulation requires a location to be a minimum of 1500 feet from a property line. 4. Notice of hearing on this request was published in the Anchorage Daily News on July 25, 1974 pursuant to Title 11, Alaska Administrative Code, Section 22.540, and no protest was received. FINDINGS: 1. It is necessary to place this location less than 1500 feet from a pro- perty line so that the location is in the optimum position for the testing of deeper sands and to obtain the greatest presumed thickness of the sands. CONCLUSION: 1. Granting the applicant's request will not result in waste or impair correlative right of affected parties. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: Standard Oil Company of California may locate the Beluga River No. 224-13 well less than 1500 feet from a property line at the referenced location. · Order" ,0 . 127 conservat10n) Page 2 1974 August 7, Alaska, and DONE at Anchorage, ~ OIt ~, ~~ ;;¡\~ ( "" ;j . Marshall, Jr. Gentlemen: pursuant to Oil and Gas Conservation Regulations and the applicable statutes of the State of Alaska, Standard Oil Company of California, as operator of State of Alaska Oil and Gas Lease ADL-5883l, hereby requests the Alaska oil and Gas Conservation Co:mmi ttee, to issue an order allow- ing exception to Secti.on 2061 of said regulations to permit the drilling of a gas well at a location 1000 feet North and 2200 feet East from the Southwest corner of Section 13, T13N, RIOW, SM. As demonstrated on the accompanying plat, the proposed well will be located on State lease ADL-58831, 1000 feet North of the Beluga River unit boundary line which is also the boundary line between leases ADL-5883l and ADL-21128. The proposed location is approximately 3800 feet Northeasterly from our Beluga River Unit 212-24 well, which is capable of producing from the same pool to be tested at the proposed location, although deeper zones may be tested. Standard Oil Company of California, Atlantic Richfield Company, and Shell Oil Company, each as to an undivided one-third interest, are the sole working interest owners in the lease to be drilled (which extends to the North line of Sections 13 and 14) and are also the owners, in like propor- tions, of the working interest in all leases committed to the Beluga River unit. There are no other working interest owners or operators which would be affected by the granting of the exception requested. There are presently no wells completed or drilling on lease ADL-58831 or within the governmental section containing the proposed location. state of Alaska -2- Oil and Gas Conservation Committee Anchorage, Alaska July 22, 1974 We believe that the requested exception is necessary and desirable in order to drill a well at the most favorable structural position and in order to test the greatest presumed thickness of pay sands thought to occur within the, governmental section to be drilled. This location is also in the optimum position for the testing of deeper exploratory sands not within a known pool. It is therefore respectfully requested that the exception be granted.
