Inc. operator of the Beluga River Gas Field, submitted an application, dated June 26, 1980, for an exception to the acreage spacing requirements in order to drill the Beluga River Unit No. 214-35. · The operator wishes to bottom the referenced directional well in the SW ¼ of Section 35, Township 13 North, Range 10 West, S.M. · The Sterling and Beluga River formations produce gas in the Beluga River Gas Field, but have not been tested on the southeast flank of the structure. · Pools in the Beluga River Gas Field have not been defined. · Conservation Order No. 144, dealing with this same proposed well, should be cancelled. · Notice of the application was published in the Anchorage Daily News on July 3, 1980. There were no protests to the application. FINDING: The sands in the Sterling and Beluga River Formations should be evaluated for potential gas production in the southeast por- tion of the field. Conservation Order No. 168 CONCLUSION: The requested exception to Title 20, AAC 25.055(a)(3), will not adversely affect correlative rights nor result in waste, and may result in increased ultimate recovery from the Beluga River Gas Field. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: 1. Conservation Order No. 144 is hereby cancelled. · The Beluga River Unit No. 214-35 may be drilled and produced at a bottom hole location in the southeast quarter of Sec 35, Township 13 North, Range 10 West, Seward Meredian. Inc., on behalf of itself, Atlantic Richfield Company and Shell Oil Company, proposes to drill the subject well at a location as shown on the attached plat. For your consideration and approval we submit, in triplicate, State of Alaska Oil & Gas Conservation Commission form "Permit To Drill Or Deepen", and our check in the amount of $100.00. As shown on the attached plat, the proposed surface location of subject well lies with%n U.S. Oil & Gas Lease A-029656 and is 1,210 feet North and 931 feet West from the Southeast Corner of Section 34, T13N, R10W, S. M. and will be directionally drilled to a bottom hole location in State Lease ADL-17599 50 feet North and 1,180 feet East of the South- east Corner °f said Section ,~"~ Both the surface location and bottom hole location fall within the Beluga River Unit boundary. There are presently no wells drilling on lease ADL-17599 or within the governmental section containing the proposed bottom hol~e location. There is, however, BRU 212-35, which is a completed well producing in the Beluga sands. Pursuant to Oil & Gas Conservation Regulations and the applicable statutes of the State of Alaska, Chevron U.S.A. Inc., Atlantic Richfield Company and Shell Oil Company, each to an undivided one-third (1/3) interest, are the sole working interest owners in the lease to be drilled and are also the owners,,' in like proportions of the working interest in all leases committed to the Beluga River Unit. There are no other working interest owners or operators which would be affected by the granting of the exception requested. We believe that the requested exception is necessary and desirable in order to evaluate the Sterling and Beluga sands on the Southeast Flank of the structure. Inc. for an order granting an exception to Title 20, AAC 25.055 (3) for relief from the acreage spacing requirements to drill the Beluga River Unit No. 214-35 gas well in the same section as the Beluga River Unit No. 212-35 which is a completed gas well producing from the same undefined pool. Both wells are in the Beluga River Gas Field. Notice is hereby given that Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has requested the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to issue an order exempting the referenced well from the acreage spacing requirements of Section 25.055 (3) of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Regulations which permits only one gas well per governmental section. The referenced well and the Beluga River Unit No. 212-35 well would lie in the same govern- mental section. Parties who may be aggrieved ~if the referenced order is issued are allowed ten days from the date of this publication in which to file a protest in writing, stating in detail the nature of the aggrievement, and .request ~for a hearing. The place of filing is the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. If such a protest is timely filed, a hearing on the matter will be held at the above address at 9:00 AM on July 16, 1980 at which time .protestants and others may be heard.
