Conservation Order No. 215
Beluga River Field
Beluga River Gas Pool,
undefined.
December 11, 1985
IT APPEARING THAT:
·
Chevron U.S.A. Inc., operator of the Beluga River Unit,
submitted an application, dated October 4, 1985
requesting an exception to 20 AAC 25.055(a)(3) to
permit the drilling of two Beluga River Unit (BRU)
wells numbered 211-3 and 224-34. The referenced
regulation permits only one gas well per governmental
section and requires a minimum distance of 3000 feet
between wells drilling to or producing from the same
gas pool.
·
The BRU No. 211-3 well will be the second well in
Section 3, T12N, R10W, SM. and the BRU No. 224-34 will
be the second well in Section 34, T13N, R10W, SM. and
will be only about 1530 feet from the BRU No. 211-3.
·
The exceptions are necessary to develop field deliv-
erability rates sufficient to meet contractural sales
demand.
·
Notice of the application was published in the
Anchorage Times on November 25, 1985.
5. There were no protests to the application.
FINDINGS:
·
The drilling of more than one well per governmental
section in the Beluga River Gas Field and at a distance
of less than 3000 feet apart will not decrease the
ultimate recovery of gas.
·
The requested exceptions are in an approved unit
operation and the correlative rights of all concerned
are protected.
Conservation Order No. 215

CONCLUSIONS:
The requested exception will not create waste and the
correlative rights of all owners are protected.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is ordered that:
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. is exempted from the requirements
of 20 AAC 25.055(a)(3) for the drilling, completing, and produc-
ing of the two Beluga River Unit wells numbered 211-3 and 224-34.
